The TAG TEAM program is a group cognitive-behaviour therapy intervention designed with, and for, trans and gender diverse young people.
- each group has up to 8 trans and gender diverse adolescents
- the program consists of 6 weekly 2-hour sessions, led by a psychologist and a trans peer facilitator
- the program is designed to improve mental health and well-being by targeting stressors and resilience factors that are commonly experienced by trans and gender diverse adolescents
We are testing the effectiveness of TAG TEAM in improving the mental health and wellbeing of trans and gender diverse adolescents aged 12-17 years. All eligible participants who enrol in the study will be offered to attend the TAG TEAM program. Eligible participants will be randomly allocated to one of two groups:
- one group will attend TAG TEAM once enrolled in the study
- the other group will be placed onto a waitlist to attend TAG TEAM after 4.5 months
