Anti-Trans activist Kellie-Jay Keen announced that she has not been granted a visa to enter Australia.
Keen was scheduled to attend the conservative political conference CPAC Australia in Brisbane this weekend.
“I haven’t got my visa to enter Australia.” Keen said on her livestream, “They haven’t got the gumption to actually cancel me.”
“Instead what they are doing is pretending they haven’t processed it, even though it is days overdue.”
“I won’t be going to Australia courtesy of CPAC.”
“I am not going to lie I was looking forward to upsetting all the right people with my trip.”
“It’s not often the main purpose of what I do but it is a wonderful side benefit.”

Victory for the trans community
Last month The Trans Justice Project launched a petition calling for Keen to not be allowed back in the country.
The petition attracted over 5000 signatures.
The organisation celebrated the news that Keen’s visa was not granted on social media.
“This is a huge victory for our community,” they said on social media.
Congratulations to everyone who signed and shared our petition emailed the Minister, and called their MP.”
“Because of your actions, Kellie-Jay Keen will not be getting a second opportunity to spread her hateful rhetoric in Australia.”
“Trans people deserve to thrive. We deserve to feel safe in our communities, to have the freedom to be ourselves, and to be able to live free from discrimination and hate.”

In 2023 they released the findings of the Fuelling Hate report, the largest-ever investigation into anti-trans hate in Australia.
It found that the trans community experienced a spike in instances of anti-trans hate during the two-month period that directly coincided with Kellie-Jay Keen’s tour.
The report outlines the rise in vilification, abuse, and harassment towards the transgender and gender-diverse communities.
