Transforming Families is a collaborative effort being led by The Kids Research Institute Australia in Perth to provide evidence-based information and resources to parents of trans and gender diverse children and young people. Together with parents and our partner organisations, we have developed this site to help parents understand and support their trans child while recognising that every family’s journey looks different. We hope that this site helps parents (as well as peers, professionals, allies and other family members) to find the information, support and resources we know they need.

Trans.au was founded on unceded Aboriginal Land. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, their Ancestors and Elders past and present. We recognise the ongoing connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have to the land, waterways, air, and people.

We acknowledge First Nations Peoples resilience and strength – especially that which we see in Brotherboys and Sistergirls who always have been and always will be an important part of Aboriginal culture and community.
