At Trans.au, we are dedicated to supporting, uplifting, and advocating for trans folks across Australia. Whether through our directory service, news aggregation, community initiatives, or advocacy work, we strive to create a safer and more inclusive world for trans people. But we can’t do it alone—we need your help.
We are aiming to raise $4,000 to continue operating our service. Every dollar you donate will go directly toward initiatives like:
- National Directory of Trans and Gender Diverse Services: A big part of our costs are keeping the map plugins up-to-date and managing contacts with over 500 different contacts with organisations.
- News Aggregation: On top of that, we also try to make sure that if there’s trans news happening anywhere in the country, we’re ensuring that it’s listed on our website as a one-stop shop for all news that affects trans lives.
- Advocacy & Campaigns: Working with incredible advocates around the country, we are currently running the petition to protect trans youth healthcare in Queensland. This is our first time running such a campaign and we want to do it more but to do that, we need your help.
Why Your Support Matters
We set up Trans.au as a service to make it easier for trans folk to find the services that they need, in their local area or highlight significant gaps in coverage and since we started our service in November 2023, our services have improved and unfortunately the costs have grown.
For us, we found it really difficult to find services and news that affected us in our local towns without having a connection already from the trans community, so we wanted to make it easier for others to find out about and access services that are friendly and welcoming to trans folks.
We’re trying to get the team together and get the paperwork sorted to become a charity as well, but this is a time extensive and expensive process.
