Hello everyone! We recently had someone send us this and we wanted to help share a call for participants for a research project on the experiences of trans people in Australian prisons. They’re looking for people who are over 18, who identify anywhere outside of cis, and who have spent time in an Australian prison at any time in the past. Participation includes a 1-2 hour one-on-one interview with Charlie (research team) and it is paid.
So it’s been a while since I’ve made a post about our progress and I just want to spend some time today and do that now.
Since Trans.au launched a month ago, we’ve been very busy chasing up a number of new submissions for our directory, from all over the country and today we’re looking for your feedback!
Applications for the 2024 Victorian LGBTQIA+ Leadership Program, run by the Department of Families, Fairness & Housing have opened up again.
One of the programs run by Trans.au is our Bluesky invites for trans folks program where we provide invite codes for the upcoming social media platform called Bluesky.
We’ve been busy building trans.au for a few months now and today, we’re happy to finally be ready to show you all what we’ve been working on!
Trans.au was founded on unceded Aboriginal Land. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, their Ancestors and Elders past and present. We recognise the ongoing connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have to the land, waterways, air, and people.
We acknowledge First Nations Peoples resilience and strength – especially that which we see in Brotherboys and Sistergirls who always have been and always will be an important part of Aboriginal culture and community.
